Dear Students,

I have had the privilege of seeing the compassion and the character of our Nation's young people as I have traveled around the country as your President.  The culture of service and responsibility is strong in our country.  Two years ago, I started the USA Freedom Corps to encourage all Americans to help someone in need.  Last year, more than 63 million Americans volunteered.  I appreciate those efforts, and I know we can do more.

If you are already volunteering in your community, I thank you.  If you are not volunteering yet, I encourage you to talk with your friends, your parents, a church leader, a teacher, or other trusted adult, and get involved.  Your idealism, hope, and energy will make our country stronger and better.
